Matthew Foglino currently teaches social studies for grades 9-11 at Wings Academy High School in the Bronx, NY. He has been teaching in Bronx public middle and high schools for the past seven years. A firm believer in content rich instruction for all levels of students, Foglino has worked to innovate curriculum in ways that make abstract concepts accessible to students at all performance levels. He has worked with several Teaching American History grants and art institutions to seek out pedagogical strategies and resources to further enrich curriculum and instruction. He has presented at the National Council of Social Studies annual conference as well as several regional conferences. He also maintains a healthy academic career. He is finishing a Master’s degree in history with the City University of New York specializing in city planning and housing policy during the Progressive Era. He has also presented research at venues such as The New York State History Conference and the Researching New York Conference.
